Further to our announcement on 18 June 2019, we are delighted to confirm that as planned Craig Matthews has now taken over full management responsibility as MD of RPC Astrapak.

In addition, due to the business restructuring within the Berry Group, RPC Astrapak (Pty) Ltd will form part of the Bramlage Division and Craig will report directly to Vincent Clauzel – the Managing Director Pharma and South of Bramlage Division.

Alfons Boeckmann, the Divisional CEO of Bramlage Division, will assume the role of Chairman of RPC Astrapak (Pty) Ltd.

As a result, Robin Moore will step down as CEO of Berry Astrapak and remain in an advisory and mentorship capacity to Craig and the rest of the EXCO Team until 31 January 2020, after which he will leave the business to pursue his personal interests and activities.

These changes are with immediate effect.

From Robin – “While there is still plenty of time for good-byes etc, I would like to thank you for your tremendous help and support over the last seven years. It has been a real adventure for everyone that has been involved with Astrapak. That we would be taken over by RPC and then become part of Berry Global – the biggest plastics company in the world – is truly amazing. While the challenges will continue, I firmly believe that Astrapak is now in great hands and in the best possible place to deliver on its potential for its people and its stakeholders.”

From Craig – “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Robin for his decisive leadership, mentorship and passion for the business over the past seven years as he drove the transition of Astrapak from a listed South African entity to be part of the world’s largest plastic convertor. His contribution to this elevation is testament to the sheer volume and standard of his impact, for which the stakeholders of Berry Astrapak will be forever grateful. Like Robin, I firmly believe that Astrapak is now well-positioned for the future and I look forward to the challenge of leading the business with the help and support of the EXCO Team, our new Bramlage and CPI Executive along with all Astrapak employees.”
