Berry Astrapak has improved its rating from a Level 3 to a Level 2 B-BBEE certificate, which was independently verified in accordance with the Codes of Good Practice. The Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Verification Certificate is based on information provided to Renaissance SA Ratings, a SANAS accredited BEE Verification agency.

Managing Director Craig Matthews expressed gratitude to his team for their efforts in remaining committed to B-BBEE. “I am pleased to advise that we have received our new B-BBEE certificate confirming us as a Level 2 contributor. Given the changes in legislation and interpretations by the Commissioner, this is a great outcome. Well done on an excellent achievement!”

Group Operations Executive, Nawaaz Kalick, said: “It’s through the efforts of our B-BBEE Committee, our Advisor, and the support from the management team that this was possible. After the disappointment of dropping to a Level 3 in 2020, the team worked through corrective actions and were determined to deliver against their plans.”

Nawaaz added that Berry Astrapak have their sights set on an even greater result next year. “While our Team is excited about the result, our aim is to improve on the scores achieved in the next audit, and we have already started working on plans to improve on this result.”
