Berry Astrapak is committed to providing high quality, quick-to-market packaging solutions for our customers and end consumers. Our vision to become a world-class manufacturer and preferred supplier is enabled by our capable workforce.

Developing and empowering our people is an ongoing process. We are always looking to improve the way we work to perfect our products and services, so procurement and supply chains are an integral part of our business. Acquiring goods of an excellent standard to manufacture cost-effective products for our customers is essential.

Natasha Persad, Berry Astrapak Group Import and Export Controller, has recently been awarded the MCIPS designation (Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply). The status as a full member of this leading professional body gives Natasha international recognition in her career.

With only two other personnel having received the MCIPS qualification within the Astrapak group, it is one of the most prestigious achievements a professional purchaser can obtain.

Natasha started her career in procurement and supply chain when she joined Astrapak in June 2014. Our management supported her to take her qualifications even further.

“Astrapak presented these opportunities to grow and develop. I started my career at Astrapak with an MBA, and I’ve progressed from CIPS Level 3 through to Level 6,” said Natasha. “I was excited to have my MBA, but now I also have the MCIPS designation to my name.”

Although she’s had setbacks along the way because of changes in curriculum and service providers, Natasha’s determination and hard work have seen her through the lengthy process.

“I think it’s been challenging because I had to find the time to study in between working and being a mom, but it was worth all the effort. I’m so grateful that it’s done now!”

It doesn’t stop here. Over and above her existing qualifications, Natasha is setting her sights on completing the CSCP certification (Certified Supply Chain Professional), which is an APICS course (American Production and Inventory Control Society). She’s ready for the next challenge and has started studying already.

Although the MCIPS designation is a personal achievement, Astrapak benefits greatly from Natasha’s expertise of procurement and supply chain. We congratulate Natasha on her phenomenal successes.
